Dr. Lara Des Roches
Reproductive Endocrinologist / Fertility Specialist

Dr. Lara Des Roches is a reproductive endocrinology and infertility specialist committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred and inclusive fertility care.
She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Victoria and her Doctor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia before completing her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency and fellowship in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at McMaster University. She also holds a Master of Arts in Biomedical and Health Care Ethics from the University of Leeds.
Dr. Des Roches’ passion for fertility medicine is deeply personal. As a member of the 2SLGBTQI+ community, her own experience navigating fertility care, third-party reproduction, and donor selection has shaped her understanding of the complexities involved in building a family with the support of reproductive medicine. She strives to meet patients where they are, understand their goals, and provide clear, evidence-based guidance so they feel informed and engaged throughout their care.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Des Roches is actively involved in teaching, mentorship, and research, with a particular interest in 2SLGBTQI+ reproductive health and improving access to inclusive fertility care.
For Dr. Des Roches, helping people achieve their dream of building a family is an incredible privilege. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time in nature, cooking, and crafts.
