Douglas received his fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, then further trained in ultrasound and became ARDMS certified. He has been involved in women’s health care for over 40 years, at several different levels. First as a resident, then a consultant, an educator, a mentor, an administrator, and finally chairing  the department of Ob/Gyn in Ottawa.

In 2014, he moved to Qatar, and there as departmental vice chair he helped open SIDRA, a brand new 7 star hospital with a new out patient facility, for women and children in Doha. He has been actively involved in the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada for many years in several capacities, culminating as it’s President in 2012. Currently he chairs their Obstetrical Guideline committee. Most recently, he has worked locally in B.C. on the Sunshine Coast, as the head Ob/Gyn Generalist in women’s health.

He loves to teach, counsel, and work towards solutions for his patients’ specific healthcare needs. He holds a faculty position with the Department of Ob/Gyn at UBC, where he teaches medical students/future specialists, and is a member of the Regional Executive Committee. In his spare time he is never far from a golf course, or his family. He is extremely excited now, to join the talented team at PCRM in Victoria.
