Gynecologists and Family Doctors Play an Important Role in the Fertility Journey

Posted on October 23, 2019

The Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine (PCRM) hosted its first Annual Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Symposium for medical professionals in Edmonton.

The educational event brings together speakers who specialize in reproductive medicine to speak on leading-edge fertility treatments to help patients with a range of specific needs.

About 1 in 6 couples in Canada have trouble getting pregnant or sustaining a pregnancy; it is critical that healthcare professionals be aware of fertility treatment methods that could help patients struggling with infertility.

PCRM specializes in diagnosing and treating infertility with the newest techniques such as in vitro fertilization (IVF), insemination (IUI), egg freezing and surgical sperm extraction (TESE). PCRM also offers screening for genetic disorders in early pregnancy with First Trimester Screening (FTS) and non-invasive prenatal screening (NIPT) along with genetic counselling. PCRM’s locations are in Victoria, Vancouver, Burnaby, Surrey and Edmonton.
